| Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge In the south-eastern Lowveld, set atop cliffs with spectacular views of the Save River, is Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge. Guests truly feel part of untamed Africa as the lodge is on the edge of Gonare-Zhou, Zimbabwe's second largest national park. In contrast to the wild outdoors, there are 14 twin bedded thatched lodges, which are comfortably furnished and decorated to reflect the culture of the Shangaan people. Each lodge has an electric fan, mosquito net, balcony and en suite bathroon with shower, bath and flushing toilets. The central dining area, bar and lounge are under thatch, however guests may opt to take their meal on the patio next to the swimming pool. The Lodge offers a variety of activities, which include nature walks and morning and afternoon game drives into Gona-re-Zhou National Park which has a diverse ecosystem. Keen bird watchers will enjoy an opportunity to 'pan sit' at Tambahata platform. The local 'Campfire' programme plays a large part in the life of the community. Guests can learn more about this project by visiting Mahenye Village to see the local Shangaan culture. |
