MOZAMBIQUE TRAVEL INFO
Climate
Situated within the tropics, much of Mozambique enjoys a tropical or subtropical climate. Three distinct climatic zones can be distinguished. The coastal belt and the northern provinces of Zambezia, Nampula, Niassa and Cabo Delgado enjoy a humid tropical climate, while the interior of Maputo, Gaza, Inhambane and southern Tete provinces have a dry tropical climate.
There are many regional variations, but generally the dry season runs from April to November. During this time, daytime maximums are around 24 - 27°C on the coast and cooler inland. In the rainy season temperatures range from 27 - 31°C accompanied by high humidity.
When to come
The best time to visit Mozambique is during the cooler, dry season from April to November. Warm ocean currents in the Mozambique Channel ensure warm sea temperatures throughout the year.
