Passports &Visas

The immigration authorities in Botswana require passports to have at least a six-month validity at the time of entry and sufficient pages to accomodate new entry and exit stamps.

Visitors can obtain tourist visas at the international airports and borders.

Visas valid for 30 (to 90) days are available FREE of CHARGE to passport holders from most Commonwealth countries and those belonging to the European Union (including Italy), Japan, Switzerland, the USA, and countries in the Southern African Customs Union (i.e. South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland). If you hold a passport from any other country, apply for a 30-day tourist visa at an overseas Botswana embassy or consulate.
