When dialling an international number from Botswana, the international access code is 00 this is then followed by the desired country code, area code and telephone number. Local, domestic and international calls can be made from hotels, phone booths and phone shops in built up areas.

The use of cell phones with international SIM cards may be limited by the lack of reception in remote places. Cell phone reception is generally restricted to urban areas.
