ZIMBABWE'S ATTRACTIONS

Hwange National Park

Once regarded as a vast track of wasteland, useless for farming, Hwange National park is now Zimbabwe’s premier wildlife showcase.

Spreading across 14,620 sq km of dry bush country Hwange was formerly peopled by San hunter-gatherers able to survive with little water: the region covers the eastern most edge of the Kalahari, with little surface water, but plenty underground supporting ample vegetation. Before adventurers and hunters arrived, parts of Hwange formed a Royal Ndebele hunting reserve.
