Barra Beach

From Bar Babalaza the road to the Barra peninsula has been resurfaced making some of the various beach resorts with their wide expanses of white sands accessible to normal vehicles, albeit a rather bumpy drive along corrugated gravel.

With an untouched mangrove estuary on the one side and wide, powdery beaches on the other, the resorts that are spread along the palm-lined dune that comprises the peninsula supplement their full range of fishing charters, snorkelling and diving options with a number of other organised activities including tours of the mangroves, canoeing, microlight flights, evening cruises and horse riding. It is also a great place to watch the sun go down over the bay in a fabulous riot of colour with the resident flocks of flamingos adding to the display.
