Maun

Once a rough-and-tumble outpost for graziers, hunters and poachers, Maun is now the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Office buildings and shopping centres continue to sprout around crumbling concrete buildings and huts made of mud and beer cans, so Maun is a sprawling and uninspiring mish-mash of new and old, Western and traditional. It is the obvious start and/or finish for most trips into the Delta.
